The National Gallery of Art (NGA) is seeking statements of interest from qualified contractors for the provision of comprehensive kitchen equipment maintenance and repair services across multiple food preparation and dining facilities, including the Cascade Cafe, Terrace Cafe, The Commons, Garden Cafe, and Sculpture Garden Pavilion, all located in Washington, DC. This procurement is being conducted as a Sources Sought notice to identify capable firms in advance of a forthcoming solicitation, anticipated to be released on or about April 15, 2026.
The scope of work encompasses a broad range of preventive maintenance (PM) and repair services for a variety of kitchen and food service equipment. Contractors will be responsible for furnishing all necessary labor, transportation, equipment, materials, tools, supervision, and management to ensure the ongoing operational readiness and compliance of kitchen assets. Key service areas include, but are not limited to, maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment, exhaust hood systems, grease traps, sanitary sewer lines, ejector pits, food waste disposals, plumbing fixtures, lighting systems, dishwashers, as well as refrigeration units such as freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, and display cases. Services will be delivered under a firm fixed price hybrid requirements contract, with provisions for indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) and service calls on a time and materials or labor hour basis.
The primary objective of this procurement is to maintain the safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance of all kitchen and dining facility equipment, thereby supporting the uninterrupted operation of the NGA’s food service venues. Contractors must demonstrate the ability to provide all required preventive maintenance activities, including cleaning, testing, visual operational checks, adjustments, and repairs, in accordance with the detailed requirements that will be specified in the forthcoming Request for Proposal (RFP).
